“Three minutes and five seconds,” Theo answers. “I don’t know, I wasn’t timing them,” I respond. It lasts for just a minute and then I look back at the healer. I feel another contraction and bite my lip hard to keep from making a sound. “Like I’m going to have a baby,” I answer. Just as I finish, a healer enters and helps me onto the bed. I tell the nurses that I can change without help, since I will to wear a hospital gown. It doesn’t take long before I’m steered into a wheelchair while Theo sorts out the parchment work and I’m shown to a room. I consider saying that I am fine, but a swift kick from Marie makes me decide that that might be a good idea. “And we’ll get a wheelchair for you,” she tells me. “Come right over this way and we’ll get you checked in,” she says. Seconds later Theo is stepping out behind me, his arms going around me for support as a nurse approaches. Merlin I knew this would hurt, but this is just the start of it. I feel the familiar sensation and stumble into the lobby of St. Mungo’s,” I say as I step into the flames. “Want me to go first or do you?” he asks anxiously. He holds out my cloak for me, helping me to shrug it on for warmth and igniting the fire, handing me the floo powder. Theo runs a hand through his hair as he does when he’s stressed, “Do you want anything else?” Though I am a bit terrified about that.” I put one hand over my stomach again. Theo helps me to my feet, letting me lean on him to keep my balance. I nod, slowly sitting up, which is something I have had some trouble with lately. “You need to go to the hospital.um.your bag’s by the floo.” “Oh!” He blinks again then jumps out of bed, racing to my side. “Theo!” I exclaim then wince again, taking a deep breath and then letting it out, the sharp pain fading. He blinks at this for a moment, whether the shock of the moment or the lateness of the hour making his thinking a little slow. “I think Marie’s coming,” I answer, trying to remember the breathing techniques I was taught. He sits upright immediately, looking over at me, “What’s wrong?” “Theo,” I speak up, knowing he is a light sleeper. I feeling a sharp pain and I am aware of what must be happening. Could it be Marie kicking? I put my hand on my stomach then gasp. I wake up in the middle of the night and pause, wondering what woke me up.
